Dr. Mehta is a general surgical pathologist who is trained in oncopathology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai India and MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA. He has devoted the last nine years of his practice to focus on oncopathology and molecular diagnostics. Through his efforts, RGCI & RC is now on the leader board of molecular diagnostic firmament providing tumor gene profile and CTC enumeration. He is also instrumental in establishing a world class Biorepository at RGCI & RC to meet the needs of scientific community focused on cancer and allied research. The Biorepository collects a wide variety of tumor tissue as well as adjacent normal tissue from surgical resections done at RGCI & RC.

He has done his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University and MD (Pathology) from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune University. (Awarded Dr YG Bende Gold Medal for best student of Pune University).  

He has also done Post Doctoral Training, Oncopathology from Tata Memorial Hospital and  

WHO fellowship in Lymph Node Pathology from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA.
